About the event
Are you attending multiple events or more than one day? Get your festival passes here. This film block opens AFMX 2024 and will include a short opening ceremony and welcome. The following films are included in this screening block:
- BREAK - Written & Directed by Sam Henderson - "Shot on Black & White 35mm and set in the 60s, BREAK is the story of a young drummer who is looking to calm his nerves in front of two veteran musicians and fulfill his dream of being a drummer in a jazz trio."
- Aidan - Written & Directed by Donovan Wilson - "A languishing click-bait reporter decides to go on her own and kidnap a strangely malfunctioning android to find the truth of its existence."
- Disposable - Written & Directed by Will Frankenstein - "A film lab technician becomes obsessed with one of her customers and when an inevitable discovery forces her up against a wall, she must act quickly or lose the object of her obsession forever."
- UNM Capstone Films - Gold Fish and Runaround
A Q&A with filmmakers in this block will be conducted immediately following the screenings.

ATTENTION FESTIVAL PASS HOLDERS: This event is first come, first serve for pass holder seating. You do not have to reserve or purchase a ticket to the event. Arrive at the event start time with your festival pass to gain entry. This includes daily pass holders (must have pass marked for that day's events).
SINGLE TICKET PURCHASES: These are available for entry to this block only. Ticket holders have a reserved number of seats and the theater will be open seating, no seat reservations are required.
