FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHERE DO AFMX SCREENINGS AND EVENTS TAKE PLACE?
In response to the pandemic, AFMX is planning to present our festival virtually again in 2021. If we are able to present in-person screenings and events by September, 2021, we will inform our audience.
We hope to create a hybrid experience, sharing films, conversations, panels and live screenings through our social media platforms and drive-in movie experiences.
Our entire AFMX team is taking every precaution to keep our team, volunteers, sponsors and filmmakers safe and healthy by following all city, county and state guidelines. We hope you can join us in September!
AFMX screenings and events take place throughout the City of Albuquerque, but mainly at locations along historic Route 66 between downtown Albuquerque and the Uptown area.
The home theater of AFMX is the historic KiMo Theatre. Most of the feature movies of the festival take place at the 650 seat venue with an incredible projection system to display movies on the new silver screen. Metered parking is available or park in the garage one block north of the KiMo at 5th and Copper Ave.
After parties take place at unique locations throughout Albuquerque.
HOW DO I BUY PASSES AND TICKETS?
Purchasing passes and tickets to AFMX movies and special events is easy. Simply go to the Attend button on our home page or click here - Tickets & Passes. Or, scroll down the home page to the Tickets & Passes special section. You may also review all movies and events under the Program section and purchase individual tickets for movies and events.
HOW DO I GET THE LATEST INFORMATION?
Sign up for our monthly newsletter and follow us on social media. All social media links can be found on our home page and at the bottom of every website page. Special announcements, promotions and giveaways are always shared on these platforms.
ARE THE FILMS RATED?
Many of our films have not yet been reviewed by the Motion Picture Association of America and therefore do not have an MPAA rating (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17). However, if you visit individual movie pages under the 2018 Program, the film information will help you make informed choices.
